redesign and relaunch

Scott,

I really think we need to change our method for promoting/ launching this site. Perhaps we can tweak the design a bit to mimic some of the GUI at realneo.us and then identify a core group of students/profs to create content that will eventually and organically inspire others to join in on the fun.

thoughts?

Nobody is using this

I look to see if anybody is working on this, but there is nothing.

Election Forum - redistricting ballot initiative

Examining Ohio's Upcoming Ballot Initiatives: Should Politics Play a Role in Redistricting?

The State's political landscape and the laws and policies that guide our future are largely shaped by the lines drawn on maps every ten years in the redistricting process. The way those lines are drawn is being challenged in a ballot initiative on November 8th that every citizen of the state should take seriously.

Currently the Ohio General Assembly draws the boundaries for congressional districts and a panel of state elected officials draw the state's legislative districts. Politics inevitably play an important role. A citizen initiative on the Ohio ballot this November proposes the creation of a new Independent Redistricting Commission.
